Odisha Police to set up 3 cyber police stations, says KB Singh

Cuttack,November 18: The Director General of Police (DGP) KB Singh today said the State Police has submitted a proposal to the state government for setting up of three cyber police stations in Odisha.

The cyber police stations will be immensely helpful in effectively dealing with any crime in Odisha, Singh said, while inaugurating a special cyber training camp at the Crime Branch state headquarters here.

Crime Branch ADG, BK Sharma said the main objective of organising the special camp is to keep each police station in the state ready to investigate into cyber related crime.

He also informed that efforts are on to operationalise the cycber forensic division by March next year.

The camp, attended by senior police officials of cyber cell, is deliberating on a host of issues including probe into facebook related crime, online lottery, financial fraud through phone, online fraud in luring youths to provide them with the job, and collection and seizure of digital evidence.
