Odisha CM to address Chasi Samavesh rally at Sohela today

Bargarh,November 19: The ruling party Biju Janta Dal (BJD) is organising a Chasi Samavesh or farmers' rally at Sohela in the district today.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to address the rally at Haladipali at around 11 am. 

Basically, the aim of this rally to create  awareness among farmers. 

Meanwhile, Agriculture minister Pradeep Maharathy, Revenue minister Bijayshree Routray and Cooperation minister Damodar Rout are not going to attend the Samavesh, said sources.

The district police detained former Cong MLA Nihar Mahananda, Sadhu Nepaka and Farmers leader Lingaraj to prevent any untoward incident during the BJD's farmersí rally.

BJD leader Jayanarayan Mishra and more than 100 party activists were also arrested ahead of the beginning of the rally.
