Normal life paralysed in Jeypore due to bandh

Bhubaneswar,November 20: Normal life was affected in Jeypore town due to a 12-hr bandh over procurement dues today.

Koraput Jilla Krusak Kalayn Manch today called bandh dakara demanding payment of dues of rabi paddy procurement to farmers in the district.

Buses and vehicles were off the roads in the town while shops have downed their shutters. The town wore a deserted look due to the bandh.

Congress chief whip and local MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati said four MLAs of Koraput district and party activists would participate in the bandh.

Meanwhile, BJD spokesperson Rabinarayan Nanda urged the district administration to immediately released the procurement dues to the farmers without letting the issue to aggravate.
