SC extends interim hearing in Feb 1st week: Vedanta row

Bhubaneswar,November 20: The Supreme Court today has been fixed Vendant's interim hearing during the first week of February on an interim appeal filed by Anil Agarwal Foundation regarding Vedanta University in Puri.

While accepting the interim appeal on the proposed Vedanta University, a three-member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice upheld the directive of the Orissa High Court pronounced in 2011 on the university project.

In its application, the Anil Agarwal Foundation has asked for a hearing this month.

The Anil Agarwal Foundation is promoted by NRI billionaire and chairman of Britain's Vedanta Resources Anil Agarwal.

Earlier, the HC in its order had quashed land acquisition for the proposed Vedanta University project in Puri while saying the procedures as illegal.
