User trial of interceptor missile tomorrow

Balasore,November 21: The user trial of an interceptor missile developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will be conducted in the forenoon on Sunday.

The interceptor will be launched from the Dhamara Abdul Kalam island whereas an electronic target will be fired from launch pad-3 of Chandipur test range. A few moments later, the interceptor missile will be test-fired, sources in the DRDO said.

Notably, in April this year, an upgraded interceptor missile plummeted into the Bay of Bengal a few seconds after the liftoff from the Wheeler Island off the Odisha Coast.
