Normal life affected by Maoists bandh

Malkangiri,November 25: Normal life was today affected in some panchayats of district after Maoist called for a bandh at Dandakaranya area.

The bandh is called by Darabha division Maoists association, the Maoists put up posters and banners mentioning their dissatisfaction over the Operation Redhunt and their opposition against airstrike.

According to sources, the red rebels have dug up roads in many places of Mahupadar, Salim, Kartanpalli, Kumarpalli areas affecting vehicular movements.

Mitrabhanu Mohapatra, Malkangiri SP said, "We have intensified combing operation in the area after the Maoist called for a bandh. If necessary Malkangiri police will take help of Chhattisgarh government and will conduct joint operations to curb Maoist operation here."
