State government provide ID cards for Srimandir sevayats

Bhubaneswar:Nov27;The Odisha government has decided to issue identity cards to the sevayats and temple administration staffs in order to avoid untoward incidents in Puri Jagannath temple.

The cabinet on Thursday took the decision after accepting the recommendations of justice Pradyumna Kumar Mohanty inquiring into the stampede incident within the premises of the temple occurred in November,2006.

There would be deployment of experienced officers and large scale mobilization of police force for smooth crowd management,regulated entry of devotees from'Sata Pahacha'.

The government would also streamline the Nitis to avoid delay in darshan leading to congestion and large gathering.
