Kotla Test Match, Ajinkya Rahane's Unbeaten 89 Helped India Finish Day 1 On 231/7

New Delhi; Dec.3:  India were 231/7 at stumps on the opening day of the fourth and final Test against South Africa at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi on Thursday. 

Ajinkya Rahane was batting on 89 with Ravichandran Ashwin unbeaten on 6 when umpires called an end to play, with six overs remaining, due to bad light. Dane Piedt was the most successful bowler for the visitors, picking up four wickets for 101 runs.

India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match series after comprehensively defeating the tourists by 124 runs in the third Test. With the win, India also ended South Africa's nine-year winning streak in away Test series.
