House Fire In Cuttack: Five Of A Family Charred To Death

Cuttack; Dec.4: In a shocking incident five members of a family have been charred to death in a major fire that broke out in a house in CDA sector-7 area of Cuttack on Thursday evening at around 8.30 PM.

Kuni Sahoo aged 40 was burnt alive with her three children in the fire while the injured father-daughter duo were admitted to the SCB hospital in a critical condition, where injured, daughter succumbed while undergoing treatment on Friday morning. 

Meanwhile, police have suspected that it might be a case of murder planned over family quarrel. The mishap occurred in the family's rented house under the Markatnagar police limits.

Earlier this morning, a team of Commissionerate Police had visited the SCB Medical College and Hospital to record statements of Anadi Sahoo and his daughter, Anita, who had been admitted in the hospital by neibhours soon after the incident.

Meanwhile, Chief Fire Officer BB Das suspected that the fire didn't break out due to any gas cylinder leakage as the mishap occurred in a bedroom. "A very high temperature has caused the fire mishap." he said.

Meanwhile, police have found a hand written note from the bedroom. The hand note is expected to reveal the reason behind the incident.

Besides, police also don't rule out it to be a case of suicide.

Police are investigating into the incident from both the angles of suicide and murder.

Notably, one Arun Sahoo and his family had been staying in the house on rent. Anadi Sahoo, Aurn's father, had come a few days ago.
