Injured Leopard Dies At OUAT Vet. Hospital In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar; Dec.4: The injured leopard, which was rescued from Nakchi PWD guest house in Angul district, died at the Veterinary College of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) here today while undergoing treatment.

The leopard has fracture in its backbone due to which it was suffering from paralysis.

Notably on Monday, the forest staff had rescued the injured leopard from inside Nakachi PWD bungalow premises under Athmallik Wildlife Division in critical condition.

On Thursday late night, the tiger's body temperature and glucose level had suddenly risen, sources said. It also added that the condition of the tiger had worsened due to medicine used for tranquilisation.

After it was rescued, the tiger had been taken to the Nandankanan zoo where the zoo staffs conducted preliminary treatment. But as its health condition deteriorated, it was shifted to the Veterinary Department of the OUAT on Tuesday morning.
