11 Killed In Suicide Bombing Shiite Mosque in Baghdad

Baghdad; Dec:10: A suicide bomber attacked a Shiite mosque in Baghdad on Wednesday, killing at least 11 people and wounding 20 in an assault claimed by the Islamic State group.

Interior Ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan said the attacker detonated his bomb in the doorway of the mosque as worshippers were exiting after midday prayers. He confirmed the toll.

Iraq has been witnessing some of the worst violence in years. In 2014 alone, at least 12,282 civilians were killed and 23,126 injured, making it the deadliest year since the 2006-2007 sectarian violence, according to a recent United Nations report.
