'Thalaiva' Rajnikant Turns 65 Years, Cancels Celebrations In Solidarity With TN Flood

Mumbai; Dec.12: It's December 12th today, the day that gave India, an iconic superstar, a star who has 40 years of glorious acting career beside him, a star who has changed the rules of Tamil cinema, a star who tookTamil cinema to the door steps of Hollywood, a star who stands testimony to STYLE and most importantly, a star who has countless number of fans throughout the world. Yes, we are talking about Superstar Rajinikanth, he turns 65 years today.

He has cancels his 65th birthday celebration following the flood in Chennai. He has also request his fans to concentrate on the relief work. 

Rajinikanth (born Shivaji Rao Gaekwad 12 December 1950) is an Indian film actor, media personality, and cultural icon. He began acting in plays while working in the Bangalore Transport Service as a bus conductor.

Rajini was introduced to the world of cinema by Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner K Balachander in 1975. He was cast alongside an already established actor and star in the making Kamal Haasan in 'Apoorva Raagangal'. He kick-started his career by playing negative roles but went on to become one of the most loved heroes of all times.

Rajini's onscreen persona and action sequences are a huge hit among a number of people across the globe. 'Thalapathi', 'Annamalai', 'Basha', 'Padayappa', 'Enthiran' are some of his blockbuster films.

Many might not be aware of the fact that the thespian essayed the role of Shri Raghavendra, a saint who once graced the earth. The film saw Rajini in an altogether different avatar.

The actor was also a part of a number of cult Bollywood films and the most noteworthy being 'Hum'.

The actor's next-'Kabali' -has gone on floors and is fans are eagerly looking forward to the film.
