The people here have lots of opportunities and they are doing well," said China Consulate General of Eastern Zone, MA Zhanwu, addressing a meet held here on Tuesday. The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) organised an interactive session with Zhanwu.
He said this while addressing a meet organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) here on Tuesday. He said that the Odisha is a good place for investment. The people here have lots of opportunities and they are doing well. Earlier on Monday he met Chief Secretary AP Padhi and gave a proposal to have bilateral trade between China and Odisha.
Addressing the gathering, IPICOL General Manager Kalyan Mohanty said, "We have 8.7 per cent GDP growth rate now and it would be 12 per cent by 2020." He also explained the priority sectors of the State like agro food, sea food, automobiles, IT, electronics manufacturing and textiles etc, where investment opportunities are available.
He also said, "We can facilitate trade and investment in port development, food processing, textile sector etc, between Odisha and China." China economy has slowed down and this year China's growth rate is not as much as India. China would form an economic corridor, where Bhutan, India, Bangladesh and Myanmar would be part of it, he said, adding, Odisha would also be benefited from it.
