Odia Novelist & Columnist Bibhuti Patnaik To Get Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award

Bhubaneswar; Dec.17: Odia novelist and columnist Bibhuti Patnaik will receive the prestigious Kendra Sahitya Akademi award for the year 2015 for his collection of short stories 'Mahisashura ra munha'.This was announced by the Kendra Sahitya Academy on Thursday.

Born on 25 October 1937, Patnaik, who is virtually a household name in the state, received the Orissa Sahitya Akademi Award in 1985 for his novel 'Aswamedhara Ghoda'. 

His other popular novels are Sesha Basanta, Abhimana, Trutiya Purusha, Badhu Nirupama, Prathama Sakala and Sesha Ratira Surya. He has written more than 150 books and has been a trend setter in Odia novel.
