Prime Accused Nabbed in Sailashree Vihar Doctor Couple Murder Case

Bhubaneswar; Dec.19: In a major breakthrough, a special police squad, after one month of intensive search has arrested the main accused, Kishore Behera, in the sensational Sailshree Vihar doctor couple murder case in Bhubaneswar.

Acting on a tip-off, a special squad of the city police raided a road side eatery at Gopalpur near Berhampur on Friday night and arrested Kishor Behera, Hours after the arrest of Behera, the squad also nabbed two others including a woman from the same locality.

All of them are being questioned, police said. Involvement of more persons in the ghastly crime will be revealed later after the interrogation is over, police added.

Behera is a distant relative of the maid servant of deceased couple and at least 15 cases are pending against him in different police stations, police sources said. The two others-Muna Khan and the woman are neighbours of the servant who is staying in a slum, police pointed out.

Notably, Dr Prafulla Chandra Mishra and his wife, Dr Sushama Mishra were found murdered in their residence at VIM 608 in Sailashree Vihar under Chandrasekharpur police station limits here on November 15. 

The former domestic help, her husband and two other accomplices were suspected to have committed the crime with an intention of robbery, a source said on conditions of anonymity.

Preliminary estimate reveals that the robbers decamped with around Rs 30,000 cash, 50 gm gold and a mobile phone, among other things.
