Cuttack:Dec 22; The Cuttack bench of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) rejected three petitions filed by suspended IPS officer Satish Gajbhiye on Tuesday.

Gajbhiye was suspended on August 13 this year following the allegedly 'excess' and 'inhuman' police action on protestors in Kendrapada, who had assembled on August 7 demanding the immediate arrest of self-styled godman Sarathi Baba alias Santosh Raul, who is now cooling heels behind the bars in Choudwar Circle Jail along with his foster son Satyam after being rounded up by the Odisha Crime Branch.

Notably, on November 16, CAT had directed Odisha government not to take stern action against Satish Gajbhiye.

The state government suspended SP Satish Gajbhiye on August 13 following his stern action against agitators in Kendrapara on August 7. November 6, the state government has extended the suspension by six months. The union government had also confirmed suspension of Gajbhiye as per the All India Services Rules.
