Bhubaneswar: Dec 23; The National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) would set up a modern eye hospital at Angul in association with the LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) entailing an initial investment of Rs 15 crore.
The hospital would primarily cater to the economically-disadvantaged groups of nearby villages. Land for the hospital has already been identified by the Nalco.
As such, the Nalco is every day running three mobile healthcare units and a OPD at Angul offering free medicines to rural people. Besides the mandatory rwo per cent of its net profit, the company is spending an additional Rs 300 crore under its CSR programme. Since the Nalco's smelter and captive power plant are located at Angul, the aluminium major has lined up a series of initiatives in the contiguous areas.
