Malkangiri: Suspected Maoists Slit Sarpanch's Throat

Chitrakonda; Dec.26:  In a shocking act, Maoists slit the throat of a sarpanch in Malkangiri district yesterday night.

The victim has been identified as Jayram Khara, sarpanch of Badapadar panchayat.

About ten suspected Maoists barged into the house of Badapadar sarpanch Jayaram Khara on Friday and killed him in cold blood by slitting his throat, informed a senior police official.

After committing the crime, the ultras shouted slogans and then disappeared into the nearby forests, informed sources.

Notably, the incident occurred at a place quite close to a BSF camp.
