Youth Fired At Over Past Enmity, Badly Beat; 3 Person Detained

Berhampur; Dec.26:  A youth sustained grievous injuries after being fired at and attacked with a sword by miscreants in Pandiripara village under Polsara police limits of Berhampur district.

The victim, identified as Sushant Nayak. Nayak, is currently undergoing treatment at the MKCG hospital. He has been shot in the stomach and has also sustained injuries on his head after being attacked with a sword.

"They came and beat me with a lathi, then both of them held me and Nabo came with the pistol. As I was in front so I tried to run away, but they caught me and he shot at me from the back," alleged Nayak.

According to sources, past enmity is being suspected as the reason behind the attack. Police have detained one Naba Behera and two of his associates from the same village and are interrogating them.

According to police sources, Sushant and Naba had altercations over a harassment case. Later, Naba, along with his two associates, attacked Sushant.
