Bhubaneswar, Dec 29: Most parts of Odisha shivered under intense cold wave for the third consecutive day on Monday. Phulbani, the district headquarters town of Kandhamal, recorded the state's lowest temperature at 2.5 degree Celsius. The temperature in Daringibadi under the same district recorded also same 2.5 degree which is the lowest temperature in the state. The entire region is swept by cold wave since three days.
The people in Phulbani, Daringbadi, Khajuripada, Raikia, Balliguda, Kotagarh, Tumudibandha areas fear to come out of their houses after sunset due to severe cold. Mercury dips below 10 degrees at Angul (9.2), Jharsuguda (9), Keonjhar (8.4), Sundargarh (7), Hirakud (7.9), Bhawanipatna (8.2), Koraput (9) and Titlagarh (9.5).
The capital city recorded its lowest temperature at Bhubaneswar 12.6 and where as temperature at Cuttack is 12 degrees respectively. Among other towns, Baleswar, Angul and Baripada recorded mercury a little above 10 degree Celsius.
