Commissionerate Police gears up to maintain law in New year celebration

Bhubaneswar, Dec 31: Just after few hours new year celebration will take place. So for that reason Commissionerate Police will be deploying 12 platoons of police men in the Odisha capital to maintain law and order on the New Year day.


These forces will be deployed at 28 locations. This apart five quick reaction teams and policemen in plain clothes will be deployed in different locations.

In every two police stations and to conduct checks on the security alertness and patrolling arrangements an ACP rank officer will remain in-charge. This was informed by Police Commissioner Dr R P Sharma.

Road blocking will be undertaken at different locations to keep a vigil on suspected anti-social elements. A close watch will be kept on zero night celebrations in different hotels.

While celebrations will be allowed till midnight in the hotels, playing of music will be allowed till 10 pm outside.

Patrolling will be intensified and stringent action will be taken against drunken drivers, warned Sharma.
