Bhubaneswar: Jan 1; The Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) will organise the Sisir Saras, an annual exhibition of rural products here, for 12 days beginning from January 2.
Around 600 artisans from over 20 States and Union Territories will participate and display a wide range of rural products in nearly 280 stalls.
A preparatory meeting in this regard was held at the MGNREGS Society building here on Thursday. Panchayati Raj Minister Arun Sahoo presided over the meeting while Secretary and ORMAS Chairman DK Singh focused on the activities and plans to be carried out to make the fair successful.
The main attractions for this year's event would be cane and bamboo craft, handloom and silk Sarees from North East, home decorative and furnishing items from Gujarat, Meenakari items from Rajasthan, woolen products and shawls from Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir, Kantha stitch and jute products from West Bengal, etc.
While the last fair had a sale of over Rs 8 crore, this year the target is set at Rs 10 crore, said the ORMAS Chairman.
