Former BJD MLA Sidhartha Sekhar Singh Resigns From Party

Bhubaneswar; Jan.3: Former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) legislator from Khandapada constituency Siddharth Sekhar Singh has resigned from the primary membership of the party on Sunday. He has sent his resignation letter to party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Sources said Singh was upset with the party leadership since he was denied party ticket. At that time, Singh's supporters had staged protest in front of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's residence demanding a party ticket to their leader.

The party had announced Anubhav Patnaik, a first-timer in place of Singh. Singh was a media reporter.

As the party was not giving importance to me so I resigned from BJD, Singh said.

Singh was elected from the Khandapada Assembly segment in 2009 and was a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly till 2014.
