ContractualTeachers Association postpones strike after govt assurance

Bhubaneswar, Jan 6: Odisha Contract Teachers' Association postpones strike after the assurance from School and Mass education minister Debi Prasad Mishra assured fresh notification. 

Accordind to the report, 3760 teachers dismissed by the government, met the minister on Tuesday, who promised them to issue a fresh notification on January 7 and appointment letter on March 4.

The maximum age limit has been reduced from 42 to 32, Contractual Teachers' Association president Pradipta Pradhan said after holding meeting with the minister. The applicants, who have passed Bachelor of Education (BEd) before January 28,2015 would also be given another chance for application, Pradhan added.

Similarly, those who were deprived of applying can apply on-line for the same from January 22. The merit list would be prepared by February 3 and accordingly the appointment letter would be forwarded to the selected candidates by March 4, Pradhan revealed.
