Cong Youths Not To Hurl Eggs At Mins Any More:Lulu Mohapatra

Bhubaneswar: Jan 16; Senior Congress leader Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra on Friday said the Ministers would not be hurled eggs by his party's youths' and students' wings; instead, the Ministers would be protested through obscene acts in public.

"Our children are being arrested for hurling eggs at Ministers. Police are slapping Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC against them. Now I have planned to change the strategy. Now, children will resort to agitations like holding of protests, slogan shouting and obscene acts as defined under Section 294 of the IPC which is bailable," said Mohapatra.

Senior party leader Debasis Patnaik too reiterated that egg hurling practice is not in the Congress blood.

"The Congress does not believe in egg hurling and obscene protest. It is far from such type of protest," said Patnaik.

However, Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra stressed that whatever the Youth and Students' activities were doing is right and appropriate.
