Hacker of OUAT website identified

Bhubaneswar, Jan 19: Police on Monday identified a youth, who on January 15 hacked the official website of Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT). The hacker is a BTech student of a private engineering college here.

"The second-year BTech student confessed to have hacked the OUAT website. The student chose ethical hacking course in the institute. He hacked the website while practising the course module," commissioner of police R P Sharma told TOI.

Though a case has been registered against the student, police are unlikely to arrest him. "He did not hack the site with any ill-intention. We will serve him a notice to appear before the Khandagiri police station for investigation," Sharma added.
