CM Monitors Secretaries' Dist Visits Through Whatsapp

Bhubaneswar: Jan 19; In an innovative idea, Chief Secretary AP Padhi has formed a WhatsApp group on 'District visits of Secretaries' to monitor Secretaries' visits to various districts in first of first week of every month.

Through this application, Padhi is promptly getting feedbacks on implementation of developmental works and giving suggestions for expediting works at the grassroots level, sources said.

All the 22 Principal Secretaries and Secretaries are providing their itineraries and receiving categorical instructions from the Chief Secretary, said a senior Principal Secretary.

Secretaries have been asked to spend two nights and three days in districts to review projects and schemes and give directions to implementing agencies.

Recently, Padhi went on a three-day visit to Kandhamal.

Earlier, Secretaries district visits were handled by Planning and Coordination Department. Now, the Chief Secretary is monitoring the district visits and issuing specific directions for completion of projects on time and proper implementation of schemes, said a senior official.

Speaking at the All Secretaries Meet here on January 14, Padhi said all the projects for which foundation stones laid by the Chief Minister must be reviewed and completed in time.
