BJD wins Baliguda, Champua NAC polls; BJP, Cong fail to win a ward in Champua

Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: Ruling BJD of Odisha wins Baliguda, Champua NAC polls. Party candidates victorious in majority of the seats in both the NAC. 

BJP, Congress fail to win a ward in Champua NAC polls. BJD wins in 9 wards out of 13 in Champua NAC; Independent 4. BJD registers victory in 9 out of 13 wards of Baliguda NAC; Congress 3, BJP 1. Earlier today morning counting of votes begins amid tight security. 

It should be noted that elections to the newly-formed Baliguda and Champua Notified Area Councils (NACs), each with 13 wards held on January 19. 74 percent people caste their vote in Baliguada while the turnout was at Champua at 83 per cent.
