Siddharth Sekhar Singh The Former BJD MLA Joins BJP

Khandapara: Jan 24; Former Khandapara BJD MLA Siddharth Sekhar Singh on Saturday along with his supporters joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP State president Basant Panda here at the party office.

The scion of Khandapara royal family in Nayagarh district had resigned from the BJD on January 3 alleging that the party was not giving him due importance.

Singh, 40, was a member of the Assembly from 2009 to 2014. However, he was upset with the party leadership after being overlooked for a ticket to contest the 2014 Assembly polls.

Pradhan said Singh is a mature politician, who has considerable hold and respect among people in his constituency which would benefit the BJP.

Basant Panda said the royal scion would facilitate disseminating of information about the good governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and bad governance of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
