Iranians Not Terror Link Suspects: STF Chief Arun Bothra

Bhubaneswar: Jan 28;  A day after five Iranian nationals were detained by Visakha (Rural) Police for their doubtful behaviour at a hotel in Bhubaneswar, the Odisha Police on Thursday said they were unlikely to be suspected for any terror links.

The five, who are being quizzed by the police, are in possession of valid passport and tourist visas.  IG of Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch Arun Bothra said: "It is almost confirmed that they are not terrorists but verification about their unusual behaviour in Bhubaneswar is underway."

While a team of officials from STF has headed to Vizag for quizzing the Iranians, it is still uncertain if the State Police would like to bring them to Bhubaneswar for interrogation.  Sources said, if the ongoing investigation reveals that there is nothing fishy about their movements, the Iranian nations will be allowed to continue with their travel.
