Cuttack: After arresting 19 associates of Dhalasamant brothers, the commissionerate police has chalked out special strategy to nab 10 hardcore criminals who were in the core group of these two criminal brothers.
Talking to media persons here on Tuesday, DCP Sanjeev Arora said of the 19 associates of Dhalasamant brothers, most of them are professional criminals.
“During the interrogation of these 19 associates, police has come to know that several other associates have gone underground. Of these absconding associates, there are 10 hardcore criminals who were in the core group of D-brothers’ gang,” he added.
The DCP further said that these 10 history-sheeters have fled the neighbouring states to escape from the police.
“We have the information that they have been frequently changing their address. We have formulated a special strategy to nab them for which we have sent two teams,” he informed.
Arora further said the cases against the criminals associated with the Dhalasamant brothers, which were closed due to lack of evidence, have been reopened for further investigation.
“Basing on this, police has reopened the case of Bhuan alias Pramod Patra, one of the closest aides of the Dhalasamant brothers, which was closed in 1999 due to lack of evidence”, he pointed out.
