Naveen gifts Hinjili bridges, schools

With panchayat polls expected early next year, CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurated projects worth Rs 25 crore in Hinjili, his home turf, and said promises have been kept.

On Tuesday, Naveen inaugurated bridges over the Rushikulya river - at Tanhara-Bhetasingi road (Rs 16.30 crore) and over Nandini Nalha at Krushnachhai-Sheragada (Rs 3.67 crore), - classrooms of the upgraded high schools at Krushnachhai (Rs 47 lakh), a Bharat Nirman Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra and two model schools.

"We believe in work and in what we say. We are trying to implement the promises made during the last assembly election," he said at the public meetings that were part of his two-hour tour. The bridges at Krushnachhai and Tanhara are the long-standing demands of the people of five blocks, said BJD zilla parishad member Nibedita Pradhan.

Around 27,000 people of 11 gram panchayats in Hinjili, Sheragada and Kabisuryanagar would be benefitted by the bridge at Tanhara. Similarly, around 18,000 people of 11 villages of Hinjili and Sheragada would benefit by the bridge over Nandini Nala. The bridges will reduce the distance between their villages and Bhubaneswar by seven to 10 km.
