19 from Odisha clear civil services examination

 Altogether 19 candidates from Odisha got through the Civil Services Examination-2016, the results of which were declared on Tuesday. There are 1,078 candidates in the merit list. Last year, 24 from Odisha were in the list and five among the top 100. This year, only two figure among the top 100.

Dibya Jyoti Parida of Cuttack secured 26th position followed by Anupam Mishra who got the 81st rank. "I always had an inclination towards pure sciences. Since I am a student of botany I would try to make science more people oriented," said Parida over phone. He gave all credit for his success to his scientist parents Prasanna Kumar Parida and Mayabini Jena.

Among others, Ashok Mishra secured 122 rank followed by Kshama Mishra (172), Sagarika Nath (199), Amitabh Mishra (260) and Smriti Mishra (269). Chief minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated them all. tnn
