India Test Fires AAD Interceptor Missile

Balasore: India on Saturday test fired its homegrown Advanced Air Defence (AAD) interceptor missile from the launch pad-3 of Integrated Test Range (ITR) in the district.

According to reports, the interceptor missile test fired at 7.45 am today.

The missile hit the target which was placed at 180 nautical miles away from the test range in Bay of Bengal, reports added.

Developed by DRDO, the 7.5-metre tall interceptor is a single stage solid rocket propelled guided missile equipped with an inertial navigation system and an electro-mechanical activator totally under command by the data uplinked from the ground-based radar.
