Tata Steel Awards Jyoti Fellowship to 164 Odisha SC/ST Students at Gomardih in Sundergarh

164 meritorious and economically weak SC/ST students including 94 girls from schools in and around Goamrdih in Sundergarh district were awarded Jyoti Fellowship at Gomardih Dolomite Mine of Tata Steel. Along with cash award worth Rs 6,81,750 the students, studying in class 7th to 10th standards, were also presented with 45 convertible yellow bags along with solar lamps.

The awardees, from 12 schools of Kutra and Rajgangpur block of Sundergarh district, were selected through a merit taste. The students were felicitated by Ms Katrina Xalxo, Block Education Officer, Kutra , Chief Guest on the occasion and other dignitaries including Ms Sarita Saronia, Block Education officer, Rajgagnpur, Mrs Jamuna Minj, Sarpanch Tunmura Panchayat, Mrs. Urmila Ekka ,Hony secretary, Tata Steel Tribal Cultural Society (TSTCS) and Mr. S S Mishra, Sr Manager, Mines Tata steel, Gomardih who had graced the award function, coordinated by Tata Steel Rural Development Society( TSRDS), Goamrdih unit. Among others present on the occasion included Mr Sanjay Sardar, unit head, TSRDS. The programme was also attended by employees of Tata Steel, teachers and students of local schools.
