Odisha Governor inaugurates National Science Day celebration-2017 at Institute of Physics


Science is deeply interwoven with our lives. It affects us all, every day of the year, from the moment we wake of all day long, and through the night. Scientific knowledge has improved the quality of life- from the routine workings of our everyday lives to global issues.

The modern world would not be modern at all without the understandings and technology enabled by Science said Governor Dr S. C. Jamir. Inaugurating National Science Day celebration-2017 at Institute of Physics Governor said, in the current scenario investment in special education for the gifted, establishment of centers of excellence and the chance to apply knowledge in the industrial and economic markets of the country is quite essential.

This must go hand-in-hand with a plan for general education at schools and Universities. With such a vision, a scientific culture will emerge that would enhance the country's ability to follow arid discuss complex problems, rationally and collectively and take lead in knowledge-based and skill-based societies in the coming decades. Governor expressed happiness for this year's National Science Day is dedicated to Specially abled persons. Following its practice of focusing on a common issue and consolidate our efforts and actions National Science Day has chosen the theme "Science and Technology for the Specially abled person" for 2017 Governor opined.
