BJP's 12-Hour Bandh Hits Normal Life In Burla

Protesting the transfer order of 14 doctors of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), BJPís Burla Nagar Unit has given a 12-hour bandh call today.

The bandh call comes on the heels of a government notification ordering transfer of the doctors to Berhampur, Baripada and Koraput.

"BJP is not eyeing any political mileage in the bandh. We are associated with this issue. If the transfer happens, medical services will be affected in VIMSAR," said BJPís Burla Nagar Unit president.

"Itís an irony that VIMSAR doesnít have the required number of doctors. We will continue our protest still government revokes its decision," said one BJP supporter.
