BJD MLA Looted Of Rs 54, 000

n a sensational evening heist, unidentified persons looted cash and other valuables from the vehicle of BJD legislator Byomkesh Ray here on Monday.

The Chandbali MLA had parked his car near Master Canteen Square here in the evening and gone to participate in a candle light rally organised by the party to appeal people to maintain peace and harmony in the strife-torn Bhadrak town.

The miscreants plotted a plan to get Ray’s driver out of the car and decamped with Rs 54, 000 cash, garments, a suitcase and some documents.

Ray’s driver was inside the car when the miscreants approached him and said that his money had fallen down below the car.  When he got out of the vehicle to check, one of the looters took away with the valuables kept inside.
