JEE exams likely to be conducted over mobile phones

A proposal to conduct JEE Advanced test through mobile phones was tabled in a recent meeting of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).

With more than 1.3 million take JEE Main examination, only 2 lakh students qualify for the JEE Advanced test. A proposal to conduct JEE Advanced test through mobile phones was tabled in a recent meeting of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).

As of now, this proposal is at a preliminary stage as it will be soon taken up by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) council, the apex decision-making body for the institutes.

Officials introduced the option to take the Mains test online and are looking to extend it to the Advanced exam, in the interest of making logistics and evaluation easier.
