JEE Advanced 2017: Maximum absentees from Lucknow

Prestigious IIT-JEE Advanced held on Sunday (May 21) witnessed a large number of student absentees. A total of 1,078 candidates in the IIT-Kanpur zone did not write the exam. IITKanpur zone which catered to 10 cities of three states including UP, Uttarakhand and MP witnessed maximum number of 172 students remaining absent during JEE Advanced in Lucknow. A total of 10 exam centres had been made in the state capital.
This was the highest number of the students remaining absent in the entire IITKanpur zone. Total of 3,766 candidates were registered to be appear in JEE Advanced in Lucknow.

Lucknow was followed by Indore where 170 students did not appear in the exam. Indore topped in MP with this strength of students not coming to write the exam. Here 3,863 students were registered for the exam. Varanasi which had a total student strength registered for JEE Advanced of 3,660, witnessed 162 students remaining absent in the exam. This temple city had nine exam centres.

Lowest strength of students remaining absent in Uttar Pradesh was Jhansi where only 25 candidates did not appear in the exam out of 792 candidates. Here only two exam centres had been raised. Kanpur city which had 10 centres witnessed absentee strength of students at 97. The total registered strength of students here was 3,567.
