Odisha Police Gear Up For Hassle-Free Diwali

Cuttack, Oct 17: With a view to ensure a hassle-free celebration of Diwali and Kali Puja, the DG Police Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma asked all the SPs to make adequate arrangement for the upcoming festivals.

In a letter to all the SPs, Sharma asked to ensure fire safety measures and emergency arrangements in the health centres in their respective jurisdiction area.

The letter also contained to follow a series of do's and don'ts to ensure mishap-free celebrations during lighting of lamps and bursting of crackers.

Crackers and fireworks must be sold at licensed shop. It was strictly asked not to use crackers that produce sound above 65 decibel. It also urged people to avoid fireworks near schools, hospitals, residential areas or in crowded place.
