Bhubaneswar, Oct 18: Odisha government on Tuesday placed three regular high school teachers under suspension and issued show cause notice to a contractual teacher for attending the departmental grievance cell here without availing leave.

Official sources here said Debendra Prasad Tripathy and Brahmananda Tripathy of Ranihat High School, Cuttack and Vinod Kumar Rout of Jhunjhunwala High School Cuttack were suspended and a Contractual teacher was issued show cause notice for coming to Bhubaneswar without taking leave.

Four teachers from Cuttack and one from Jajpur had come to departmental grievance redressal cell yesterday to put forth their request for the revision of their pay scales.

But on inquiry it was found that except the teacher from Jajpur none of them had taken leave. Expressing his displeasure, the secretary directed the Director School and Mass Education to take strong action against the erring teachers.
