3 dead, 2 injured in road mishap in Cuttack

Cuttack, Oct 19: At least three persons were killed and two sustained critical injuries when a car carrying them was hit by an unknown vehicle near Gopalpur in Cuttack in the wee hours today.

The deceased were identified as Trinath Mohapatra, Ratan Jena and Durga Prasad Singh of Netaji Nagar in Madhupatna whereas the injured were admitted to the SCB hospital in Cuttack for treatment.

The ill-fated Maruti Swift car did not have a registration number.

The severity of the accident was so much that the three passengers died on the spot and bodies were brought out by police after cutting metal pieces with a gas cutter.
