Heavy rains to continue in coastal Odisha for next 24 hrs

Bhubaneswar, Oct 20: The current spell of heavy rains will continue lashing coastal parts of Odisha for the coming 24 hours, said Met regional office here.

Rains would also occur in interior and western parts of the State during the period. People will get relief from heavy rains only from Saturday afternoon.

The deep depression formed in the Bay of Bengal was formed into a low pressure and is passing through in the north-east direction at Paradip. Under it's impact, rains along with wind blow at 45-55 kmph over coastal Odisha are predicted, said the Met office.

The fishermen have been asked not venture into the sea during the period. Danger Signal 3 has been hoisted at Paradip and Gopalpur Ports.
Due to persistent rains, normal life gone out of gear in most parts of the State, including the capital city, Bhubaneswar.
