CBI Court Permits TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhya Passport For UNO Tour

Bhubaneswar, Oct 21: Following the Odisha High Court's order to the lower court to consider TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhya's passport issue for his official UNO General Assembly tour, Special CBI Court here on Saturday permitted him to go abroad by allowing his surrendered passport to use for the purpose.

The Court here on the day accorded him due permission to leave India for abroad from October 27 to November 1 and resubmit the passport with the court positively on November 8.

Notably, the TMC MP was arrested by the CBI sleuths from Kolkata last year in connection with his alleged links in the infamous Rose Valley chit fund case.

Currently, he is on bail granted by the Odisha High Court on health grounds.
