Explosives Worth Rs 10 Lakh Seized In Pipili; 2 Detained

Pipili, Oct 23: Two persons were detained and a huge cache of explosive materials used in cracker making were seized by police in Jeypore Sasan village near Pipili last night.

Following a directive from Puri SP Sarthak Sadangi, local police officials raided a house and seized crackers and explosives worth Rs 10 lakh.

The detainees have been identified as Santosh Sahu and Swahin Sahu.

Recent deaths in Pipili area due to cracker explosion have reportedly made the police jittery.

On October 18, a minor girl was killed while four others were injured critically in an explosion while making crackers at Bilipada near Pipili.
