Odia mountaineer dies after trekking in Manali

Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: A young odia mountaineer named Lalu Prasad Bhoi lost his life while scaling down the mountain in Manali of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. According to sources, Bhoi all of a sudden fell while trekking down the 15,000 ft altitude peak of Byasakunda in the Himalayan region.

Bhoi collapsed nearby the trekking camp and was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Bhoi along with 14 other climbers had started their adventure on September 17 under the leadership of professional mountaineer Jogabhyas Bhoi, also from Odisha.

Notably, deceased mountaineer Lalu Prasad Bhoi is the cousin of Jogabhyas Bhoi.
