Bhuabaneswar, Oct 24: Hours after proposing for an alliance with Congress in the state to keep BJP at bay, BJD Vice president and agriculture minister Damodar Rout took an apparent U-turn on Today and dubbed it to be his personal opinion.
Dama has made it clear that BJD is in a strong position in the state and necessarily not need an alliance with any party to win the polls. Dubbing the BJP to be a communal party, he insisted that it is the party high command Naveen who takes the final call on the alliance.
Earlier reacting to the BJD vice president's comments, Odisha Congress chief Prasad Harichandan said, "This is Damodar Rout's personal opinion. He is a senior leader. Everybody knows the BJP is a communal party. About alliance with any other party, an AICC committee headed by AK Antony takes the decision. No such decision is taken at the state level."
