Naveen rubbishes alliance talks; says BJD to remain equidistant from BJP, Congress

Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: Putting all rumours and speculations into rest, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has clarified that BJD won't enter into alliance with either BJP or Congress and would maintain equi-distance from both parties.

'BJD is equidistant from Congress & BJP. With the blessings of our people we will continue in our fight for the rights of Odisha', he tweeted.

Patnaik's statement came after Senior BJD leader Dama Rout's alliance with Congress statement.

Notably, Rout had yesterday stated that any opposition party want to join BJD to fight against communal forces like BJP is welcome. 'The way BJP here is making a hue and cry to achieve their target of 120 Assembly seats in 2019 elections. All the anti-BJP parties irrespective of party and opinion should come forward and unite to check the BJP. Here the opposition party I'm hinting at is Congress as Communist party has lost its steam,' he had stated.
