Kunduli Gang-rape: Four minor boys appear before cops at Koraput DIG office

Koraput, Oct 24: The four minor boys, who were detained by the police and later released after interrogation and one of them undergoing lie detection test, today again appeared before Koraput police for interrogation, in connection with the gang-rape of school girl in Koraput recently.

The police had zeroed in the four boys for their suspected involvement in the gang-rape of a Class-IX tribal girl on October 10, and even conducted lie-detection test on one of them namely Papan Khara. However, police released three persons excluding Khara and conducted a lie detection test on Khara. Later, police too released him after the outcome of the test report reportedly found nothing to hold Khara an accused.

Meanwhile, the fresh summons of the Pottangi police to the four is raising many eyebrows forcing their relatives crying foul. Last week, the district police had apprehended the four youths of Sarispadar village and later released three of them. The lone detainee, Papan Khora, was made to undergo a lie detection test but the cops failed to get any clue and also released him. Tapan alleged that police forced him to admit his involvement in the crime by torturing him.

The Class-IX girl of Sarispadar Sevashram School, who is a native of Musaguda village under Pottangi police limits, had alleged that she was kidnapped and gang-raped by four armed security personnel, who were in jungle patch uniform in Lanjiguda forest while returning from Kunduli on October 10.
